Kuressaare Vanalinna School underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2023 and required a new visual identity.
The new visual identity was created as part of a group project for the graphic design exam at Kuressaare Vocational School. The team consisted of Helena Talk (myself), Mari-Liis Nellis, and Tuuli Pupart. The exam but also the project was a success because our team's work was selected as the new logo for the school.
The logo represents a window frame with lights glowing inside.
Ideas and sketches
After the briefing, we began the conceptual design process as a team. First, we brainstormed, where each team member presented their ideas and visions, based on the school's values and goals. We discussed different design elements that could represent the school's history, traditions, and future directions.
After collecting ideas, we conducted an evaluation and selected two strong draft ideas that had great potential. We presented them to the school principal, who gave his feedback for moving forward towards the next stages.

Creating final version
The school principal provided feedback, expressing preference for Mari-Liisi's concept of dignified window frames, which we decided to move forward with. We then focused on developing visuals for the final design. This process led to the creation of the minimalist window image that I designed for the logo.
